A Moving Traditions Workshop for Parents & Teens

Talking Together About Difficult Topics
Wednesday, May 19 from 5:00pm - 6:00pm

In this workshop facilitated by Moving Traditions CA Director Alisha Pedowitz and VP/Chief of Program Strategy Rabbi Tamara Cohen, families who plan to view deToledo’s production of “Spring Awakening” will explore ways to have meaningful conversations with one another around difficult topics such as sexuality, touch, consent, academic pressure, and mental health raised by the show.
Drawing on Moving Traditions’ family education approach, parents and teens will be given tools to understand one another in new ways and more compassionately and effectively, while drawing on Jewish wisdom to help them think about issues of communication and empathetic listening. During the session, parents and teens will have conversations as a family about these issues, within the boundaries that work for them. Limited to 50 families.
