Homecoming Game Recap

Boys Varsity Basketball eases by Newbury Park Adventist, 75-28

Skills Contest

The Boys F/S Basketball team took the crown during the Skills Contest, finishing in first place in the Dribble Relay and 3-Point Contest, and finishing in 2nd place in the Hot Shot Contest. Their consistent top finishes led them to the peak of the standings. Boys JV finished in a close second by winning the Hot Shot Contest by a wide margin, largely due to them being on fire from three. The Girls Varsity Basketball team finished in third place ahead of the Faculty Team that was limited in numbers and therefore had to have each of their members participate in all three events.

Boys Varsity Basketball (5-6 overall, 1-1 league)

de Toledo 75 - Newbury Park Adventist 28

The Jaguars romped Newbury Park Adventist by a near-fifty points in front of a packed house on Homecoming Night. The team fed off of the uproarious fans, who were egging the players to bring their bests forward -- the team did just that. Liam Evenhaim, in his final Homecoming Game, scored 27 points for the second straight game. Evenhaim once again put up a double-double, bringing in 10 rebounds. Aidan Nussbaum finished second with 11 points, scoring all of his points in the second half. Aidan Waldman set up Evenhaim and Nussbaum with eight assists that resulted in points and hit the glass for eight boards. Mikey Altschul swiped six of the Jaguars’ 18 steals, indicative of the defensive pressure de Toledo forced upon their opponent starting in the first quarter. The team continued that hard-working mentality on the boards, grabbing 50 total rebounds (32 defensive rebounds).
