Girls Varsity Basketball claims their first win of the season against Palmdale Aerospace Academy, 39-16

Girls Varsity Basketball (1-13 overall, 0-6 league)

de Toledo 39 - Palmdale Aerospace Academy 16

The de Toledo Girls Basketball team scored their first victory of the season with a full-game showing. As skillful as the team played, what really separated them from their opponent was their unending hustle to get to each ball, which led to several second chance points. Lulu Marsh pushed the ball to the hoop, scoring a career-high 23 points to start up the Jaguar offense. Maia Chameides, with her smooth footwork, also got into double figures with 12 points, looming over the defense for quick put-backs and post-ups. Sarah Goldstein pushed the pace when transitioning from defense to offense, leading to open breaks for the Jaguars. Hannah Fahuna and Rachel Epstein kept the ball moving along the wings before dumping off passes inside for easy looks. Lauren Gabay was the primary reason de Toledo was able to have so many second-chance opportunities, as she boxed out the opponent for a myriad of offensive rebounds. Bella Oransky stifled her adversary by sticking tightly to them, making every little move difficult for them.
