dTHS Dance Team Raises the Barre

This past weekend, the Varsity, JV and Hip Hop Dance Teams participated in "Revive Dance Competition and Convention" at the Hilton LAX.

They competed with 9 dances and all of them received either a High Gold or Platinum Award. Their first tap dance ever (performed by Rocky Reisz and Iris Esten) received 3rd place overall in their category. In addition, their contemporary piece "Down To The River" (performed by Noa Blonder, Arielle Carabet, Iris Esten, Emi Hamburg, Rachel Lotwin, Oriya Edri, Cami Cohen, Ilana Almansky, Lexi Turner, and Zoey Corsun) was given the "Revue Favorite" Award and was asked to perform again at the closing show on Sunday afternoon.

Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday was spent taking dance classes from various professional choreographers in the styles of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop.

Saturday night, an audition was held to see who would be selected to join the Revive Hip Hop Crew out of approximately 200 dancers. Three of our dTHS dancers were called back to the final round of auditions (Rachel Lotwin, Carlie Esses, and Zoey Corsun). Congratulations to Rachel Lotwin for being chosen to join the Revive Hip Hop Crew.
