Eight Is Enough (Goals That Is)

Boys Varsity Soccer mesmerizes offensively with eight goals; advances to CIF-SS Division 7 Quarterfinals

de Toledo 8 - Fairmont Prep 1 (CIF-SS Division 7 2nd Round)

de Toledo toppled the overall number two-seed in Division 7, Fairmont Prep, scoring an astonishing eight goals on a frigid night to advance to the CIF Quarterfinals. Six of those goals came off of Julian Gancman’s foot. Gancman could not be stopped, as he sped by the outside backers for beautiful finishes. He also set up the final score of the match, sending the ball across the box to an open Omri Alon, who swept his leg ever so lightly to push the ball past the keeper. Freshman Eytan Azami scored the other goal of the night, his first in playoff action. The Jaguars will look to keep the winning streak going, currently at five games, against San Dimas High School on Wednesday. San Dimas is coming off an equally impressive two-game stint in the playoffs, outscoring their opponents 15-0.
