The Jaguars fell to Palmdale Aerospace in three straight sets in their opening game of the season. The team, which yesterday consisted of one senior and nine freshmen, started the first and second sets strongly, but were unable to sustain that level of play through the end of those sets. In the first set, de Toledo held a 12-15 set lead, before Palmdale Aerospace climbed back into the set to tie it at 23-23 and then converted two straight points to cap off the set. In the second set, the Jaguars held a commanding 7-13 lead, but the Griffins went on a 10-1 run to take a 17-14 lead, prompting de Toledo to take a timeout.
