Four de Toledo High School students with a passion for engineering and robotics – Jack T., Aaron M., Harrison B., and Ben R. – were named as official National Finalists for the prestigious NASA HUNCH Health and BioMedical Program.
With this recognition, the students were invited to Space Center Houston, where they presented their cutting-edge research findings to NASA mission scientists and biomedical engineers, punctuated by their patented and operational prototype for a product designed to help mitigate mental health complications expected to arise within future human colonies on the moon and Mars.
All of the students at de Toledo High School (“dTHS”) have completely unique / individualized academic and co-curricular schedules tailored just to them.
This customization – made possible with the encouragement and active engagement of dTHS faculty and counselors – enables each student to chart their own academic path.
Students entering the 9th grade are given every opportunity to refine their skills and maximize their potential in the classroom.
Through close, one-on-one mentorship provided by teachers, deans, counselors, and advisors – de Toledo students who begin their high school experience taking college preparatory classes routinely move up to honors and AP classes over time.
dTHS allowed me to challenge myself and grow into the best version of myself with a wide range of AP and Honors courses. The school’s academic rigor prepared me with the time management skills I needed to succeed at Duke.
