  • Alumni Development Associate

    de Toledo High School, a vibrant and innovative independent high school, is seeking an Alumni Development Associate who will take our recently established alumni engagement program to the next level.  The primary objective will be to establish an Alumni fundraising campaign, based on a monthly giving model. Another central component of the position will be to support the Director of Development in all aspects of fundraising for the department.
    The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial self-starter, with a passion for our school community, and for building the next generation of alumni leadership, involvement and financial support of our school.  A successful candidate will have exceptional organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of social media, event planning, building relationships and networks of individuals, and familiarity with fundraising is essential. 
     
    Alumni responsibilities include: 
     
    • Work with development staff and lead an Alumni fundraising campaign 

      • Build an Alumni development committee to lead and oversee campaign 
      • Build a “monthly giving” online fundraising campaign platform 
      • Work with development staff to design, plan and implement campaign 
      • Create recognition events, incentives and swag for alumni donors. 

    • Develop Active Alumni Leadership Council

      • Event Committee
      • Tikkun Olam Committee
      • Fundraising Committee (development committee mentioned above) 
      • Outreach Committee

    • Event Planning

      • Alumni Day
      • Reunions (10 year and 20 year)
        • Identity, cultivate and work with alumni reunion committee
      • Social Networking Events - in different cities
        • Identify, cultivate and work with people in cities to plan and recruit for events
      • Shabbat Dinners
        • Identify, cultivate and work with alumni who will host and plan events
      • Professional Networking Events (in collaboration with Jobs4Jags Program) 
      • Alumni donor recognition event(s) 

    • Database/Network Expansion & Updates

      • Work with social media manager to collaborate with main accounts, create content and content ideas and get coverage for events
      • Monitor FB and IG for lifecycle events
      • Monitor main accounts for content to be shared with alumni accounts

    • General Development Department responsibilities include: 

      • Supporting the Director of Development in carrying out the philanthropic vision, strategy, and plan for the school that meets annual and long-term fundraising goals, including support for special projects, events, capital projects, endowment campaign and major/mega gifts including planned giving.
      • Supporting the Director of Development and department on items including but not limited to agendas, minutes, materials, calendars, workspace, board member stewardship and meeting logistics.
      • As assigned, helping to coordinate fundraising activities and events for de Toledo High School constituents: Board members, parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty/staff, friends, corporations, foundations, and others. 
      • Providing support for the Director of Development and the department on core department initiatives including Annual Campaign, 25th Anniversary Campaign and Spring Fundraising event, as needed.
      • As assigned, coordinate fundraising materials, including, but not limited to, solicitation letters, persuasive and compelling funding proposals, annual reports to foundations, case statements, donor collateral materials. 
           
          Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
           
          • Enthusiasm for mission and vision of de Toledo High School and strong commitment to embrace and promote its culture.  
          • Familiarity with the independent school sector and/or the Jewish community.  
          • Commitment to achieving fiscal goals.  
          • Two (2) years of experience in fundraising preferred as well as experience in event coordination and work in a nonprofit organization. 
          • Demonstrated skill in enlisting volunteers and coordinating their effort and energy towards the attainment of strategic goals.
          • Ability to conceive and implement creative donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies; commitment to growing, sustaining, and strengthening positive donor relations.  
          • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with people at all levels and in all settings.
          • Strong organizational skills sufficient to handle multiple projects, details, and deadlines simultaneously; strong ability to prioritize. 
          • Proficiency with Google Suite 
          • Knowledge and experience with Raisers Edge database is a plus.  
          • Self-motivating, entrepreneurial, self-confident. 
          • Collegially inclined with peers; a willing communicator and collaborator; enthusiastic team player.
          • Comfortable working within a fast-paced dynamic school environment.  
          • Unquestionable personal integrity, excellent judgment, sound instincts, diplomacy and patience.
               
                          Salary range:  $60,000 - $80,000 (DOE)

            • High School Principal

              STRONG, VISIBLE LEADERSHIP

              Reporting to our Head of School, de Toledo High School’s next principal will provide strong, visible leadership that aligns with our mission, vision, and values. This individual will be entrusted to promote a culture of academic excellence, continuous innovation, as well as student and faculty well-being.
              KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

              Leadership & Vision

              • Provide strong, visible leadership that aligns with the school’s mission, vision, and values.
              • Promote a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and student well-being.
              • Serve as the primary educational leader, guiding instructional programs and practices.

              Faculty Management & Development

              • Recruit and recommend hiring to the Head of School.
              • Create a culture for the retention of exceptional faculty.
              • Observe, supervise, and help evaluate all faculty to support instructional effectiveness.
              • Collaborate with the Director of Faculty Development to plan orientation, professional development, and staff training.
              • Collaborate with, support, and supervise Department Chairs to ensure instructional consistency and excellence.

              Academic Program Oversight

              • Oversee curriculum articulation with partner schools in coordination with Department Chairs.
              • Partner with Department Chairs in the development of innovative curricular and extracurricular programs to meet diverse student needs.
              • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and distribution of report cards and related communications.

              Student Experience & Programs

              • Partner with program directors to oversee arts, athletics, global education, college counseling, and other co-curricular initiatives.
              • Manage student attendance records, master schedules, and key school events such as Curriculum Evening for parents.
              • Create systems to support smooth operations across all school programs.

              Community & Parent Engagement

              • Ensure consistent, transparent, and respectful communication between parents and teachers.
              • Foster strong partnerships with families.

              Operations & Collaboration

              • Coordinate with the CFOO, Marketing Director, Human Resources Director, Facilities Director, Director of Development, and other department heads to ensure communication between academic and operational priorities.
              • Address issues promptly and effectively, keeping the Head of School informed of developments.
              • Be a visible presence in classrooms, hallways, and school events to foster relationships and address concerns in real time.
              • Collaborate with the admissions department overseeing acceptances

              Qualifications

              • Proven leadership experience in a school setting, preferably at the high school level.
              • Extensive prior experience in education, including classroom teaching.
              • Must be a strategic leader capable of inspiring staff, students, and parents toward a shared vision.
              • Strong communication skills, including public speaking, for addressing a variety of audiences. Ability to build positive and cooperative relationships with all members of the school community.
              • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
              • Excellent skills in advisement and mediation to handle conflicts with faculty, students, and parents.
              • Ability to make sound decisions based on what is best for the school and its students.
              • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the holistic development of students.
              • Master’s degree in Education, Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or related field preferred.
