de Toledo Students Take Home PSA Film Awards!

Unbelievably excited to announce that this past weekend two de Toledo student films – “It Won’t Be Me” (written and directed by Gracen M.M., ’25) and “The New Car” (written and directed by Eden L., ’26) – won State Level Finals Awards at the 8th Annual SAFE (Streets Are for Everyone) PSA Film Competition sponsored by Honda!

Held at the prestigious American Film Institute (AFI), these awards recognized de Toledo’s talent student filmmakers from among hundreds of other high school students from across the state. Our students’ winning films – created in Mr. Stark’s amazing Video Production class – will also soon be airing on TV on CBS2/KCAL9!

As traffic crash injuries are the leading cause of death for youth in California, we salute our winners for creating powerful films that have the potential to save lives. We also congratulate Mr. Stark for being such an impactful teacher!
