Speech and Debate Team Triumphs at Cal State Fullerton

The Speech and Debate Team went to Cal State Fullerton for two days of debate competition with nearly 500 students from 52 schools.
Led by our Speech and Debate Coach, Mr. Lebeda, dTHS competitors immersed themselves in a weekend of public speaking, critical thinking, and team bonding.
Nine students competed in a variety of debate events:
Public Forum Debate: Jack B. and Benny G.
Parliamentary Debate: Roee A. and Hannah B.
Lincoln-Douglas Debate: Jonah P., Bradley G., Sam G., Sami R., and Nathan S.
When the dust settled, our team walked away with two significant trophies:
Nathan S., in his first-ever debate tournament, reached the quarter-final round in Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate. He placed in the top eight at the tournament in Novice LD.
Hannah B. dominated the Novice Parliamentary Debate division with her powerful communication skills. She earned a trophy as the 10th-best speaker in her division.
