The Advanced Jazz Combo Volunteered With The Los Angeles Jewish Symphony Education Program

At Adat Ari El, our students learned about the connections between Sephardic and Latino music and helped run an instrument "petting zoo" for students from local elementary schools with high Jewish and Latino populations.

The elementary school students received the opportunity to try a range of instruments, often for the very first time.

Afterward, everyone joined in the sanctuary for a vibrant educational concert by the symphony.  One of our students, Matt S., got to play tenor sax on "Ocho Kandelikas."

This experience was a great way to celebrate Hanukkah, bring the light of music to the community, and give our students a chance to be educators.
