de Toledo's Soccer program goes 2-0 against Pacifica Christian for their first league wins of the season

Boys Varsity Soccer (1-1-2 overall, 1-0-0 league)

de Toledo 3 - Pacifica Christian 1

In their first league contest of the season, the Boys Varsity Soccer team breezed by their opponent for a two-goal victory. The Jaguars put up all three goals in the first half, establishing an insurmountable commanding lead. The goals were set up through great combinations from the midfield and forwards. Julian Gancman, who was dangerous throughout the game, finished with two goals. Natie Freson, who played terrific balls towards the forwards, managed to score a goal of his own to widen the lead. Pacifica Christian’s sole goal came on a late free kick.

Girls Varsity Soccer (5-2 overall, 1-1 league)

de Toledo earned their first league win of the season by blanking Pacifica Christian in a comfortable game. Chelsey Silverman proved to be an offensive maven, sneaking the ball past the keeper twice on the night. Team goal scoring leader Maya Hayun added her 12th goal of the season to bring the margin to three. All three goals were assisted by Tatiana Cait.

Wrestling

Millikan Tournament

Jonah Rudner finished 3rd at the Millikan Tournament with a 3-1 record on the day. Rudner pinned his opponent in two of his three victories. At the end of the tournament, Rudner was awarded a bronze medal for his placement in his weight class.

Boys Varsity Basketball (3-6 overall, 0-1 league)

de Toledo 56 - Pacifica Christian 64

The Jaguars and Seawolves were tied at the break, at 27 points a side, before Pacifica Christian outscored de Toledo 37-29 in the second half to claim the victory. de Toledo started the game with fiery offense and aggressive defense to stake a four-point lead after the first frame, but were not able to carry over that momentum to the rest of the game. Aidan Nussbaum was a breath of fresh air, scoring 21 points to lead the Jaguars in his first game of the season. Nussbaum connected 75% from 2-point range and 56% from beyond the arc on his way to a superlative shooting showcase. Liam Evenhaim and Jack Bromberg each contributed double digits to the tally. Bromberg’s points all came from 3-point land, as he sunk four 3s for 12 total points. Evenhaim neared another double-double with 13 points and 8 rebounds.  

Girls Varsity Basketball (0-12 overall, 0-5 league)

de Toledo 27 - Pacifica Christian 53

The Jaguars played their most complete game of the season, putting up a season-high 27 points on the offensive end while working hard and limiting the Seawolves on the defensive one. The team played particularly well in the second half with newfound energy that sparked the team’s charge. Lulu Marsh led the Jaguars with 14 points by taking advantage of looks all around the court. Maia Chameides scored a personal season-best 9 points, doing much of her damage in the paint.
