Jaguars Shine in Opening Swim Meet at Birmingham

Both the Boys and the Girls Swim teams opened the season with strong showings. As for the Girls Swim Team, freshman Micha R. ‘23 finished 3rd in the 200-yard Freestyle and 4th in the 100-yard Breaststroke. Fellow freshman Ayala F. ‘23 finished 2nd in the 200-yard Freestyle and 4th in the 100 Freestyle. Senior Ariela Z. ‘20 finished 3rd in the 50 Freestyle. Senior Jordi P. ‘20 scored a personal best in the 50 Freestyle.
The Girls Team Swimmer of the Meet was given to Emma S. ‘21, who is coming back from an injury-plagued sophomore season, as she finished in 2nd place in both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke.
On the Boys Swim team’s side, junior Max M. ‘21 finished 2nd in the 50 Freestyle. Juniors Andrew G. ‘21 and Daniel L. ‘21 made their debuts swimming for the Jags with personal best times in the 50 Freestyle. Fellow newcomer freshman Griffen C. ‘23 finished with the best time for de Toledo in the 100 Freestyle and finished in 2nd to teammate Ilan A. ‘22 in the 100 Breaststroke.
Ilan A. ‘22 was highlighted as the Boys Team Swimmer of the Meet for his win in the 100 Breaststroke and his 2nd place finish in the 200-yard Individual Medley.
The Jaguars next meet is at Oaks Christian on Tuesday.
