New Year Wisdom for Teens - And the Rest of Us

In his new piece in the Jewish Journal entitled New Year Wisdom for Teens – And the Rest of Us, de Toledo's Head of School, Mark Shpall, explores how parents and educators can help build grit and resilience in our teens. 

"Seeing our kids struggle, get frustrated, or become upset is difficult to witness," said Shpall. 

"As a father, I understand the strong urge to solve our kids’ problems for them. However, my time as an educator has confirmed something I’ve known for a long time but struggled to fully accept – that intervening on behalf of our children is not in their best interest."
