Welcoming more than 500 guests to our campus yesterday for our annual Open House, meeting so many of you for the first time, and introducing our unique school to the wider community has left all of us on the de Toledo team inspired and energized!
One of the student speakers at yesterday’s Open House, Ilana L. (’25), shared how “this school has changed my life. de Toledo has given me the tools I’ve needed to build on my passion for science in our incredible Medical Science Academy.”
Ilana discussed how a recent medical mission to Guatemala – where she worked in an operating room, assisted surgeons and nurses, helped patients, and consoled families – was a life-changing experience that “allowed me to see the change I can create firsthand.”
Another student speaker, Kadyn M. (’25), spoke from the heart about how his initial uncertainties in high school gave way as “I quickly built new friendships… came to think of my teammates on the de Toledo baseball team as my second family… began to enjoy learning about Judaism and have Jewish pride… and developed bonds with my teachers to make hard classes seem easy, even some AP classes.”
These stories are just two of the countless number of examples how de Toledo High School impacts our students so profoundly. And we want these stories to become your family’s stories as well. Picture your child in four years: self-assured, kind, thoughtful, intellectually curious, ethically grounded, motivated, resilient, and ready for the world. Picture the friends who will be standing by your child’s side, the teachers who believe in them, the moments that will have shaped them, and the global experiences that will have opened their eyes.
When you choose de Toledo, you are not just choosing a school. You are joining a family that will nurture your child’s mind, spirit, and soul.
