Boys Varsity Basketball earns thier first league victory of the season against AGBU

Boys Varsity Basketball (4-6 overall, 1-1 league)

de Toledo 68 - AGBU 51

The Jaguars earned their first league win of the season, over the Titans, in a game that very much felt like it was in their hands from the onset. The team was effective on both ends of the court, shooting a respectable 42% from the field and stealing 12 passes from the opponent. Liam Evenhaim put his entire arsenal forward, leading the team with 27 points. Evenhaim was composed at the line, converting 9-of-10 free throw attempts. He additionally contributed to a third of the team’s steals with four bags. Aidan Nussbaum enjoyed another strong offensive performance with 13 points, doing it from both the inside and the outside. Aidan Waldman nailed a couple of threes to accompany his carving-to-the-hoop game for 12 points.

Girls Varsity Basketball (0-13 overall, 0-6 league)

de Toledo 22 - Milken 45

de Toledo is starting to show progress as an offensive team, consistently putting up 20+ games this season. Sarah Goldstein led the team in scoring with 10 points, all off of two-point conversions. Maia Chameides continues to score from down low, as the team’s second leading scoring on the day, with six points.

Girls Varsity Soccer (5-3 overall, 1-2 league)

de Toledo 0 - Oakwood 1

The Jaguars came up a goal short of the Gorillas, as Oakwood took the league match. de Toledo will look to exact revenge on Oakwood next week in their home match-up scheduled for January 22. The Jaguars will be looking to split the season series in order to preserve their run to the playoffs.

Boys Varsity Soccer (1-3-1 overall, 1-1-0 league)

de Toledo 1 - Buckley 3

The Boys Varsity Soccer team dropped their first league match on Thursday to perennial contender Buckley by two goals. The Jaguars did not capitalize on some open chances in the first half, but at the same time, they did not concede a goal to the Griffins. The scoring took place in the second half, including Julian Gancman’s free kick that slid under the defensive wall for the score.
