Jaguars Claim Another Resounding Win in Moving to 2-0

The bats were blazing for the Jaguars again in a decisive victory against Shalhevet. de Toledo opened up the game with a 9-run 4th inning that started with four consecutive singles by Jared B. ‘20 (2-3, 3 R), Aidan S. ‘20 (3-4, 2 R, 5 RBI), Noah S. ‘22 (1-3, R, RBI), and Jeremy N. ‘23 (2-2, 2 R). Max T. ‘21 (1-3, R, 2 RBI) wiped the bases clean with a base-clearing triple to right field, giving the Jaguars a 6-1 lead. Ethan S. ‘21 (1-3, R, RBI) then hit an RBI single to right field, padding the lead to 7-1. Jacob W. ‘21 (2-4, 2 R) ensuingly hit a double beyond third base to advance Ethan S. ‘21 to the third bag. On the ensuing at-bat, in his second at-bat of the inning, Jared B. ‘20 was hit by the pitch, loading the bases once again for the Jaguars. Ethan S. ‘21 scored during the next at-bat, as a pitch sailed beyond the catcher’s reach, which also advanced Jacob W. ‘21 to third and Jared B. ‘20 to second. Aidan S. ‘20 struck the final chord of the inning, doubling in both runners for the 11-1 gap, his third hit with runners in scoring position of the game. 

Jared B. ‘20 took the mound for the Jaguars, pitching 5 innings while giving up 7 hits and striking out 6 batters. He was able to get to the Shalhevet batters quickly by ridding of 12 batters in three pitches or fewer.
