dTHS Students Arrive in Budapest, Hungary

Üdvözöljük Magyarországon!  This somewhat exotic phrase – Hungarian for “Welcome to Hungary!” – has been greeting de Toledo’s 12th graders over the past 24 hours or so as they begin their Budapest Exchange Program (BEP) adventure, one of the highlights of the dTHS Global Jewish Education experience!

The students on this program will be spending time studying on the campus of our partner high school in Budapest (the Lauder Javne Jewish School), connecting and living with the same Hungarian peers they hosted earlier this year on the de Toledo campus, as well as immersing themselves into Budapest’s vibrant Jewish culture – with excursions to Vienna and Prague along the way!

No other high school offers its students so many diverse opportunities to study overseas at Jewish schools across the globe; learn alongside peers in Israel, Hungary, Uruguay, Turkey, Uganda, and Mexico; and then reciprocate by hosting their international “buddies” back on our campus and in our community.

From Budapest and Istanbul, to Tel-Aviv, Montevideo, Mexico City, and even Mbale (Uganda), there are a myriad of life-changing experiences made possible by de Toledo's Global Jewish Education program!
